This guide is a companion to the DAW Bootcamp, a six-week CMTE experience for music therapists seeking to increase their skills and creativity with digital audio workstation applications in therapy.

The first edition was developed as a companion to attending the concurrent session at the Southeastern Region of the American Music Therapy Association (SER-AMTA) conference 2023 in Chattanooga, TN. The second edition was refined for the first full six-week DAW bootcamp in Summer 2023. This edition expands on the six week sections with new information and updated resources.

It is our hope that it will be helpful with, or without, context to the workshops. It should make referencing materials from the sessions after the fact quite a bit easier. As mentioned in the presentation, learning audio engineering concepts can feel daunting. Keep in perspective, however, that there are professionals who make an entire career out of the things we're just flying over and giving you the 10,000 ft view.
